The Joyce as we know it today was born in 2015. What was ‘The James Joyce Irish Pub’ became ‘The James Joyce Pub’ and finally ‘The Joyce’, as we dropped the Irish theme to focus exclusively on New Brunswick products and creators.
Beginning with 18 taps, we had more draught lines than New Brunswick had breweries. As new breweries popped up, we attempted to pace by adding new lines. Reaching the capacity of our keg fridge in 2018, we tapped out at 36. Although we can no longer house every brewery in New Brunswick at the same time, we still feature as many different New Brunswick breweries as possible through our rotating selection.
In addition to local beer, we also offer local food. Our longest partnership has been with Local Valley Beef. Our signature burger, ‘The MacLeod’, is named after farm owner – Cedric MacLeod.
Cedric is as passionate about grass fed beef as we are about local beer. He views himself as a grass farmer rather than a cattle farmer. His cows don’t live in a barn, but instead roam freely in different pastures, each overflowing with a hand-selected variety of grass and clover specifically chosen for the current season. Come visit and taste the difference for yourself.
Year bringing you the best New Brunswick beers
Our menu features Canadian pub classics and great Joyce
signature dishes. If beer isn’t your thing, you can always enjoy a nice glass of wine or a cocktail. Our Cocktail menu features both traditional standards and staff creations. They’re some of the best in the city!
There’s no better way to learn about a brewery than to visit it! We’ve toured breweries in all corners of New Brunswick. We’ve been as far north as Petit-Paquetville and Charlo to visit Distillery Fils du Roy and the now closed Shiretown Brewing. To the west there have been several trips to Edmundston to visit Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault. To the east and south we’ve made countless trips to Moncton and Saint John. It’s always an amazing experience and we come back excited and educated.
LARGEST CRAFT BEER SELECTION IN NEW BRUNSWICK
We are here to showcase the wide array of beer and cider available from across all New Brunswick. Our connection with local breweries is an extremely important part of what we do.
We develop that connection by visiting the breweries and by bringing the brewers to us. These relationships help us to share our local producers’ stories and celebrate their products with you.
