The Joyce Story
Just the Joyce
The James Joyce Pub became The Joyce—and with that came a clear focus and a fresh identity.
From the start, The Joyce set out to champion New Brunswick breweries. That commitment grew quickly, eventually reaching 36 rotating taps—the largest selection of New Brunswick craft beer in the province. We visit breweries across the region, build real relationships with the people behind the beer, and host Meet the Maker nights where brewers pour special releases and share their stories firsthand.
The result is something rare: a truly local pub. Our staff knows the beers, the brewers, and even the farms behind what’s on your plate. Being “local” here isn’t a trend or a tagline—it’s a long-standing commitment.
Today, The Joyce stands as proof that sometimes the best way to honour a place is to let it be exactly what it is.
In early 2015, we opened the door to 18 draught lines—and a new vision.
While scanning the ANBL keg list, something jumped out: New Brunswick breweries. Some familiar, some brand new, all full of potential. That moment sparked a shift that would shape everything that followed.
Next came the beer
We rebranded simply as The Joyce and committed fully to showcasing New Brunswick products and creators.
By 2018, we had expanded to 36 taps, briefly boasting more draught lines than the province had breweries. While we can’t pour them all at once anymore, our taps rotate constantly—ensuring there’s always something new, local, and worth talking about.
Then CAME THE SHIFT
